Facebook has recently made another set of changes to your newsfeed, cracking down on clickbait and prioritizing content from friends and family. These changes aren’t bad things – but they can make it harder, once again, to get your information in front of your audience. Today we’ve got two power-packed methods to extend your Facebook reach and grow your following.
- Turn your email into a Facebook lead generator. Include a Facebook icon in your email signature that connects to your page. People will click on it to see what you’re up to, and they might even like the page, especially if you invite them to do so. Another way to leverage email is to share a Facebook post headline in the message that links to that post on your page. Try something like, “Here were our top posts this week.”
- Turn offline networking into Facebook fans. Talk with other small business owners in your neighborhood and see if you can partner up. You can present a joint webinar or do cross-promotional posts. But a new and exciting idea is to create a joint Facebook group. Make it an online club where local businesses offer discounts and coupons, share news about events, and ask the members for input. Share the group URL on printed marketing materials, made available in each retailer, or develop a unique hashtag that people can search.
With every new Facebook change, but don’t get discouraged! With a little bit of creativity, you can still harness the power of this dynamic social platform.
